Kotone is originally from Nagoya, Japan where she started her ballet training at age 3 in her hometown. She then received her formal training at Central School of Ballet from 2018 – 2021.
By the age of 18, she was a member of Ballet Central and during her time there she performed ‘Le Corsaire Act 1’ by Christopher Marney dancing the roles of Gulnare and Odalisque, ‘Jigsaw’ by Charlotte Edmonds in the main duet and ‘Highland Fling Act 2′ by Matthew Bourne. She graduated from Central School of Ballet with a BA (Hons) Degree in Professional Dance and Performance by the University of Kent.
In September 2021, she gained an opportunity to perform in West End live in Trafalgar Square in collaboration with Christopher Marney and The London Cabaret Club.
At the same time, she joined Northern Ballet’s Graduate Program and was taught by Yoko Ichino and Nicola Smart. She gained performance opportunities with Northern Ballet in Pinocchio’ choreographed by Gavin McCaig, as Franny the Frog and Camden the Cat.
In April 2022, she joined Ballet Cymru where she was given a number of main roles such as Hermia in ‘Dream’, ‘Three Little Pigs’ and the title role in “Little Red Riding Hood. She also enjoyed performing contemporary works by Marcus Jarrell Wills.
