Luke is a Specialist Dance Physiotherapist, working almost exclusively in dance and ballet since moving to London in 2010. Luke worked at the Royal Ballet School in Covent Garden for six years, where he oversaw healthcare provision at the upper school, co-founded the Royal Ballet Science and Medicine Advisory Group, and launched the school’s first start-of-year physical profiling programme. As well as treating Royal Ballet Company dancers, Luke has also worked with the casts of the Lion King, Mamma Mia, Aladdin and Bat Out Of Hell, and with touring companies such as the Royal New Zealand Ballet. He is a presenter on the website Dance Masterclass, a former contributor to the Dancing Times, and visiting lecturer to University College London and University of East London. Luke has also presented at conferences for the English Institute of Sport and the British Association of Sport and Exercise Medicine, and has been a blogger for the British Journal of Sports Medicine.
Outside of London City Ballet, Luke’s private practice spans various locations in London and online, where he works with professional, vocationally training, and amateur dancers of all ages. Outside of physiotherapy, Luke is the Head of Music and Resident Choreographer at the London Gay Men’s Chorus.
