Lydia Rose Hough

Lydia Rose Hough was born in Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire and joined the Royal Ballet School Junior Associates in Leeds, Yorkshire at age 8, earning a place at The Royal Ballet School, White Lodge at the age of 11 where she trained for 5 years. While there she played the characters of a Gingerbread, Party Child, and Rat in The Royal Ballet’s The Nutcracker and a Fox in Liam Scarlett’s The Cunning Little Vixen at the Royal Opera House.  

In 2022 she joined the English National Ballet School where she had the opportunity to dance the Principal Sylph in Peter Schaufuss’ La Sylphide and the Principal role in Andrew McNicol’s Of Space and Time.

She joined English National Ballet’s corps de ballet for Aaron Watkins’/Arielle Smith’s The Nutcracker during the Christmas of 2024 and in 2024 & 2025 Lydia performed various roles including Odette and Odile in English National Ballet’s My First Ballet: Swan Lake.

In September 2024 Lydia won the Audience Choice Award and Silver Medal at the Royal Academy of Dance Margot Fonteyn International Ballet Competition, with her performances of Odalisque 2nd Variation and a self-choreographed contemporary work.

Lydia is so excited to begin her professional career with London City Ballet.
