LONDON CITY BALLET TRAINEE PROGRAMME
The award-winning LONDON CITY BALLET, former resident company of Sadler’s Wells, announces a nationwide search for 20 exceptional graduates on the cusp of their professional careers.
We are seeking 20 emerging artists ready to step beyond training and into the reality of company life. This traineeship is about intensive professional immersion into the daily company environment designed to prepare you for the demands of a working ballet company.
TRAIN INSIDE THE COMPANY
Work directly with the Director & Artistic Team at our Islington studios
Train as a company member
Join company classes and rehearsals
Be embedded in the daily life of London City Ballet
Gain direct proximity to a professional touring company
PERFORMANCE & REPERTOIRE
The programme begins with rehearsals for The Firebird, leading to selected repertoire including:
Haieff Divertimento (George Balanchine)
Mephisto Waltz (Ashley Page)
Opportunities include:
Being part of company casting
Potential to perform and tour with the company
Industry exposure through a professional performance showcase solely for Trainees
Exposure on the company website, social media and printed programmes
DAILY TRAINING
Minimum 5 hours per day of:
Classical and modern technique
Pointe work & strengthening
Rehearsals of company repertoire
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Audition preparation & career guidance
Assistance with showreels and CVs
Trainee creation period with a choreographer
Frequent guest teachers and international répétiteurs
KEY DETAILS
Age: 18–23
Level: Graduate or equivalent
Requirement: Must have the right to live in the UK
Course Fee: £5,900 +VAT (£7,080) for the year (Heavily subsidised by LCB)
